"on the flow of ink"
I go through my day with thoughts that I bookmark in my mind, thinking I'll write an entry about them, yet when I get to this box, I sit like a deer caught in the headlights and can't remember a darn thing. For a while I was writing my thoughts down in a notebook or journal during the day, but I've run out of pages and it seems my mental notes just don't do the trick. I love the act of writing in my journal. I love the smell of paper, especially when it's new paper - and I take such delight in the flow of ink across the page as I write. Still, in a different way, I enjoy typing my entries in this diary. Misspellings are easier to correct for one thing and I make more of an effort to keep things readable in here than I do in my regular journal. The only thing I miss when writing here is that I don't doodle on the pages like I do in my journal. I usually write with a fountain pen. It absolutely glides across the page. I've used a fountain pen for 10 years now, so I am hard pressed to change my habit even with all the roller-balls and gel pens out now. It is quite a different act of journalling when I type my entries here. So, while I sit with my blank stare, I wonder what happened to all the mental bookmarks I made throughout the day and I realize that I have to get a new journal or even a notebook. Something I can carry with me and keep handy. Anyway, changing the subject, here is my December desktop that I posted for Site UnScene:
