"nothing but pieces"

Sometimes I wonder what the heck I'm doing. I just sat here for a whole hour staring at my "add an entry" page trying to think of what to write. I should blow it off and get on with the pages I need to update.

What did I do instead? I started reading diaries with my Buddy List first. Then I moved on to the members area to see who's recently updated. Then I ran through my rings and surfed around that way.

As far as my own entry, I'm still at a loss for words. The only other thing I've done is search the net for more poetry resources for the Poetica Collab mailing list since I will be adding a new topic on Saturday and notifying the members via the newsletter.

Tomorrow is the last day to vote for the Get It Banner contest. All the votes will be tallied and the winner notified on Friday the 31st. Problem is, I have to work Friday. So I guess I'll update it Friday morning before I head to work.

I feel I need to ask for more help with Get It. It should be a collaborative effort. There's so much that can be done with it.

In any case, I'm excited about the Banner Contest and I can't wait to see who wins!

Here's my finished piece for this month's "Pieces Collab" project. Our assignment was to create a new image from a photo of a paperclip we were provided. I had so many ideas running through my head with this image and I played with it quite a while in Paint Shop Pro 7 before coming up with the final version. It wasn't easy for me to choose which way to go with it. I had several designs I discarded. I made a paperclip clown face and a paperclip butterfly too. When all was said and done however, I chose to go with a quilt sampler effect for the final project. I enjoyed playing with all the different squares. Overall I'm quite pleased with the effect and the variety of designs I composed it with considering it all started with a paperclip.
