"Kitty Kollab - Aug 2001"
I can read my cat, Mickey pretty well. I know his sounds, his words and sometimes his thoughts. Mickey doesn't speak in any language except for "felinese". He has special meows for special needs and I can tell when he's hungry or thirsty or wants to play or needs to go the litterbox. I know when he's afraid and I know when he's content. If Mickey want's me to do something special for him, like brush his coat or give him a treat, he will send mental pictures to me to let me know. What he does is he stares very hard at me and imagines me doing the thing he wants me to do until I look at him. Then I ask him what he wants and he runs to the closet where I keep the treats or he goes to place I keep his brush or he crouches by the kitchen door which is his "let's play catch" signal. Even so, I know he would love it if he could speak my language, and vice versa. "Whatcha doin' with that?" he says when I'm reading the paper. Then he jumps up and sits smack dab in the middle of it, ready to take a nice long nap. "Pet me! Pet me now!" he says and comes and puts his paw or rubs his nose in the middle of my palm. "You're eating something - What is it?" he says when he climbs up the chair or table to see what I'm munching on. He doesn't eat people food, but he likes to supervise my diet for me, none the less. "Don't make me get up!" he says when something wakes him up. He watches what's happening from half open eyes while laying sprawled on the floor. "Clean my litter box NOW!" he cries when he stands in the kitchen at the open door to the garage. "I love your lap!" he says when he laying all cozy on my lap and purrs and kneads my legs with his paws. It's funny how I have learned to communicate with Mickey. But I love him and that helps matters alot.
